AESYS variable message signs (VMS) tunnels use homologation.
AESYS is pleased to announce that italian Department of Infrastructure and Transport recently approved the homologation of our Variable Message Signs ( VERBATRAFFIC RGBY 10 series), which allow to display the led symbols of highway code inside tunnels.
This is the first italian approval about Variable Message Signs; in particular, AESYS VMS are nowadays the only signs to to be approved in the field of led signs tunnels use. This is very important, because the approval involves the complete compliance of highway code .
This approval is not only a success for AESYS (and it proves how AESYS technology is effective, innovative and very high quality), but most of all it takes a step towards an higher security inside tunnels, thanks to the higher reliability of informative led panels compared to reflector type panels or backlighted types.
The use of AESYS approved VMS allows a lot of advantages:
versatility : compared to the traditional road signs (for example a speed limit sign, or the security distance sign) AESYS VMS can give real time informations, therefore in a dynamic way, depending on the traffic status.
Higher readabiliy: informations readability is granted by the use of LED technology
complete informations: the possibility to install more than a panel inside the tunnel allows to make a kind of dialogue with drivers, giving them exact, detail and punctual informations.
In particular, AESYS type approved VMS are 3 electronic display realized with full matrix LED sign, used to give real time informations regarding, for example, traffic congestions, accidents, respect of security distances, speed limits, weather conditions out of the tunnel, use of seat belts, etc.
The approved VMS are installed inside the Frejus tunnel.
